hope you are well. My name is Chameera Perera, a former First-Class cricketer from Sri Lanka, currently playing Senior Men’s Division 1 (1st XI) for Melton South Cricket Club as a contracted player. With extensive playing and leadership experience across both Sri Lanka and Australia, I am writing to express my strong interest in beginning my professional journey in a Coaching Role I am a left-arm orthodox spinner and middle-order batsman, with a proven track record at competitive levels. My playing experience includes: • Kelmscott Cricket Club (Western Australia) • Glenroy Cricket Club • Endeavour Hills Sub-District Cricket Club • Craigieburn 1st XI (over three seasons) • Melton South Cricket Club – current 2025/26 contracted player Alongside my playing career, I hold Cricket Australia Level 1 and Level 1.5 Coaching Accreditations. I have already worked with numerous individual players and several community clubs, helping develop their skills across all formats. However, I believe it is time to take the next step in my coaching career. I am deeply passionate about teaching, mentoring, and creating a positive team culture. My goal is simple — to prove myself as a quality cricket coach. At this stage, I am not driven by salary, but by opportunity and trust.
